Adam Church - song writing multi
instrumentalist. No stranger to the stage, screen or airwaves.
Below is a brief history of how he came to be……
1998/1999
Adam meets singer song writer Dave Wilkins
and hooks up with fellow musicians Bill Aravena and Matt
Cornell to complete the line up for “Utopian
Babies”. Dave and Adam head to London to mix and complete
“Utopian Babies” debut album titled “Nothing
in Moderation” at the BBC studios in Maidavale and hit
the promotional trail.
The band starts touring with “Utopian
Babies” supporting Julian Lennon, Dogstar, Semisonic,
Ritchie Sambora, Brian May, Noiseworks and 30 Odd Foot of
Grunt. One show, they even had their own support band! (A
little band named Jet).
The band goes on to play every TV show in
the country including; Hey Hey it’s Saturday, Recovery,
Ground Zero, In Melbourne tonight, The Midday Show, MTV and
Channel V.
With interest in Germany, the band land an
eight city tour
Including; Rostock, Essen, Berlin,
Dusseldorf, Riesa, Chemnitz,
Scwerin and Nuerburg. They also manage a TV
performance to over 8 million people. The band go their
own way after returning to Australia.
2000/2001
Adam joins long time friend Tony Juke, the
founding member of “Oblivia” and films the video of
“Collapse on me”. The band release their debut
album titled, “The Careless ones” produced by Steve
James (Sex Pistols, Cold Chisel) and start the promotional
trail that included TV appearances on Rove, Channel V, Big
Brother Live eviction show and Pepsi Charts. “My
friend” a single from the album goes on to win an ARIA.
2002
Adam performs live (on drums) with Billy
Thorpe and manages over 110 shows that year with various
artists.
2003
Working on original projects through out
the year, the challenge of crafting a song and recording
becomes an even greater challenge and ambition.
2004
Adam plays drums on Transtar’s second
EP “How to find friends and lost relatives
immediately”. He also starts writing with the hope of
recording a solo album.
2005
Adam meets with, well respected producer,
Craig Portiels to discuss and plan the recording of “Sum
of all Parts”.
Adam also plays drums on Shannon
Noll’s #1 platinum selling album Lift and assorted
sessions and commercials.
2006
Adam completes “Sum of all
Parts” and starts performing the material live.
